Bronzer & Highlighter Collection

Bronzer Edit

With the whole contour and highlighting trend going around lately, brands have been bringing their A-game when it comes to releasing products to match what consumers want. With hourglass releasing their ambient bronzer and BECCA doing their collab with Jaclyn Hills, the hype for contour and highlight products is real.

I myself, have accumulated a tiny collection of highlight and bronzing products.

BECCA skin perfecting liquid in moonstone

The texture for the sleek contour and highlight kit is more chalky than the rest. However for the price, the product it is totally worth it.
Texture wise, BECCA has the nicest powder formula. It is smooth, buttery and a dream to apply.
Shade range wise, gotta give it to Bobbi Brown.
I wish Hourglass would come out with more shades of their bronzer because it is so pretty.
I want to try NARS Laguna and the Too Faced chocolate bronzers.

Shine Bright Like a Diamond

I only recently started being obsessed with highlighters. When done right, it is glowy, healthy and perfect. When done wrong, it can look greasy and shiny. BECCA is probably most well known for their highlighters, especially after their recent collaboration with Jacklyn Hill for the Champagne Pop Highlighter.

I have the pressed shimmering skin perfectors in moonstone and rose gold, and the liquid shimmering skin perfectors in moonstone.

The liquid formula is the least shimmery out of the liquid and pressed versions. I don’t have the poured formula, so I don’t know how that compares. The only issue I have with the liquid formula is the pump. It is hard to use, and dispenses too much product at one time. It is more glowy than shimmery, for those that want a more natural looking highlight. There is a slight scent to the product, but nothing offensive.

My first BECCA product was the Moonstone pressed shimmering skin perfector. It is a sparkly intense pale gold shade that looks great on paler skin tones. The powder is super silky and soft, a little bit goes a super long way. I don’t think anyone would ever finish one of these products.

I originally wanted to get Opal, but it was out of stock so I settled for the rose gold shade. On me, I don’t use it as an highlight but more as a blush. I layer this over a nude blush to give it a bit more of a pink tone + shimmer.

The pressed contains 8g for 38USD

The liquid contains 50ml for 41USD

BECCA products are expensive, but in my opinion worth it. I will never finish any of these product, and they are so beautiful.

I just wish the pump wasn’t so annoying.

Blush Collection

Blush is my weakness. I have more than I will ever need in my life. Maybe it is the colours, maybe it is the packaging, maybe it is the way it finishes off a look. There is so many great formulas and shades out there that I kinda feel like I have to ‘catch them all’.

Sasa Haul

I made an order off Sasa around two weeks ago because I saw that they had the Fairydrops Platinum Waterproof Mascara in stock (also known as the Fairyfrops scandal queen waterproof mascara), and I have been trying to find this mascara for ages. It is a popular mascara amongst beauty bloggers, and I couldn’t find any on my trip to Asia last year.

So I bought 2…because I am a hoarder. I also recently got some other Asian mascaras to hopefully do a mascara comparison post.

I also got five Innisfree sheet masks in rose, green tea, cucumber, tea tree and aloe, as well as the innisfree jeju volcanic pore clay mask. I can’t wait to have a pamper evening and use this mask, I have heard a lot of good things about this clay mask.

I then picked up the Shu Uemura eyelash curler and a box of the BN Luminous change fake lashes in 09 Natural Eye.

Current Lip Products

A problem with having too many lip products is that it is hard to get good use out of the whole collection. I try to keep my lip products in rotation so that I get the chance to use everything.

Nivea Lip Balm – A basic lip balm that does the job. This is always in my makeup bag. One day I went to work without it and it made me very sad.

Revlon lipstick in Red Lacquer – It looks like a bright red, but it is actually pretty sheer. Better for everyday wear, compared to other reds.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red – Just a classic matte red shade. I don’t get a lot of opportunities to wear red lipstick, but it is just nice to have around just in case.

Marc Jacobs Sheer Lip Gel in Eat Cake – Can we talk about that name? It is so perfect for this shade. It is the nicest rosy pink colour, a perfect nude for me. I have trouble with nude lipsticks since it always washes me out, but this one has the perfect amount of nude and pink for my skin tone.

Mac Lipstick in Lickable – A bright pink, one of my favourite lipsticks to wear during the weekend. The formula is moisturizing since it is a creamsheen finish.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color in Rose Petal – My everyday work shade, it is a nice rosy mauve shade that is mature and elegant.

Sephora Luster Matte Long-wear Lip Colour in Magenta – This is super long lasting and super bright. I wore this on a night out, and after drinks and dancing it stayed on perfectly. The name pretty much describes it.

Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon – Another mauve-y plum shade, similar to the bobbi brown lipstick, except not as long lasting and more moisturizing.

Dior Lip Glow – This is one of those magic lip balms that works with *something science-y here* to create a shade unique to you. I like it, it is luxurious feeling and the packaging is super cute (I mean, its Dior), but perhaps not worth the price tag because it is still just a lip balm.
